6. Brace alteration appointment

I have just come back from my appointment at the orthodontists today! I have had my braces "tightened"- this involved removing the coloured elastic bands around each tooth, then the wire being pulled out; it sounds a lot more painful than it is, it didn't hurt at all. They then preceeded to add a slightly thicker wire to my upper teeth and keep the same wire in my lower teeth as it still have "more work to do". Once the new wires had been trimmed down to the right size for my mouth, they were then fitted in and the new elastic bands were attached over the top. The whole procedure only took about 10 minutes so was quick and painless. These are the adjustments that are made at every alteration appointment which are usually every 6-8 weeks.
